Megan Lilah Martin
Licensed Massage Therapist #6464, Licensed Esthetician, Ordained Living Ceremony Priestess
I was raised by artist/river
guides in the red rock country near Moab, Utah. From a young age, the textures and rhythms of the natural world have
been a source of guidance and inspiration. As a young person I wanted to be a counselor, a writer, a bon vivant. My early
life was filled with creativity and freedom, but also chaos and loneliness. My family struggled with generational patterns
around addiction, repression and the quest for a meaningful life. As a young adult, I found the tranquility of the burgeoning
wellness and spa culture to be a compelling refuge. I decided to become a bodyworker and applied myself to studying massage
therapy, aromatherapy, yoga, Ayurveda and more. I graduated from the Desert Institute of Healing Arts in 1991 and have served
in variety of settings: Top spas like Canyon Ranch and Topnotch, wellness centers and chiropractic offices, private practice,
and as the Training Director of the Dragontree Holistic Day Spa here in Portland.
In 2005 I let my fascination with the Divine
Feminine come to full flower by immersing myself in a 2 year training and initiation in the Living Ceremony
Priestess tradition. I was ordained in 2006 and also completed an apprenticeship with Anyaa McAndrew in women's sacred sensuality.
I am currently in my second year of training in
Mindful Experiential Therapy Approaches, a form of body centered counseliing, with Jon Eisman and Donna Roy of the
META Institute. I intend to become certified as a Hakomi Therapist.
